2026年3月24日の午前9時に逮捕されたのは、陸上自衛隊えびの駐屯地所属の3等陸尉・村田晃大容疑者（23歳）。
港区の中国大使館の敷地内にを歩いていた容疑者を、大使館の職員が発見した。
大使館の植え込みからは刃渡りおよそ18センチの刃物が見つかっている。
村田容疑者は容疑を認めた上で「中国大使に面会して意見を伝えるため」だったと供述した。
「受け入れられなかった場合は、自決して相手を驚かせようと思っていた」と話している。
村田容疑者は去年、陸上自衛隊の幹部候補生学校に入学し、今年度から「えびの駐屯地」で勤務していた。
陸上自衛隊は「誠に遺憾であり、警察の捜査に全面的に協力する」と話した。
中国外務省 林剣 報道官による報道内容
「中国は今回の事件に深い衝撃を受けており、日本側に対して厳正な申し入れを行うと共に強く抗議した」。
「中国の外交官の安全および外交施設の安全を著しく脅かすものであり、極めて悪質」と批判した。
日本政府に対して、徹底した調査と厳重な処罰、および説明を求めた。
The person arrested at 9:00 a.m. on March 24, 2026, was Koki Murata (23), a Third Lieutenant belonging to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force's Ebino Garrison.
The suspect was spotted by embassy staff walking on the grounds of the Chinese Embassy in Minato Ward, Tokyo.
Subsequent investigations revealed a bladed weapon with a length of approximately 18 centimeters in the embassy's shrubbery.
Murata stated that his purpose was "to converse with the Chinese ambassador and convey his own opinions."
"If my demands weren't accepted, I was planning to commit suicide to surprise them," he said.
Mr. Murata entered the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Officer Candidate School last year and has been stationed at Ebino Garrison since this fiscal year.

日本だけでなく、何処の国にもこの様な人物は存在するだろう。
過去を振り返ると、世界の大きな戦争は、この様な些細な出来事がきっかけとなった事もある。
感情だけに囚われた大義なき戦争は、双方に取って国益とならない。
今回の事件は双方の国民の心に、大きな影を落とす行為となるだろう。
重要なのは、これまでの双方の国家間で、相手国の国民の心情を著しく傷つける言動や行為が無かったのかを、双方の国家指導者は真摯な心で反省する事が出るのかと言うことだ。
そして、双方の国民が過剰に感応することが無く、彼の主張に対し「何故にこの様な思いに至ったのか」を理解する事だ。
其の後に、国家主義に染まった人物により、今後にこの様な過激な行為が行われない環境を構築する事だと思う。
例えば賢い友人や上司そして家族による会話が最も大切な事で、それらにより彼らの過激な行為を事前に抑止する事ができるだろう。
彼らに対し、世の中には彼らの意見とは異なる主張も存在する事を伝えることは重要な事です。
