今年の夏は「胡瓜」の蔦が大きく繁茂し、胡瓜も沢山採れています。／This summer, the cucumber vines have grown vigorously, and we are harvesting plenty of cucumbers.

 

　今年は胡瓜の育ちがスゴイのです。

　僅か3本の苗が大きく育ちまして、既に20本以上の胡瓜を収穫しましたが、まだ花を沢山付けており、この先も収穫可能に思えます。

　通常の年は早々に葉が黄色くなったりして弱ってしまって、1～2回の収穫しかできないのです。

　我が家の庭には「カタツムリ」が多く住んでいて、ことごとく収穫物の葉を食べてしまうので、今年は農薬を少し撒きました。

　とても効果があった様で、今は全く「カタツムリ」を見なく成りました。

　もしかして、今年の収穫量が増えたのは、その所為なのかもしれません。

The cucumbers are growing amazingly well this year.

They have grown so large from just three seedlings, and I have already harvested over twenty or thirty of them.

 Since there are still plenty of blossoms, the harvest looks set to continue for a while yet.

In previous years, the cucumber leaves would turn yellow early on, the plants would weaken, and the harvest would be over after just one or two pickings.

My garden actually has a lot of snails that devour the leaves of my crops, so I decided to use a little insecticide this year.

It seems to have been incredibly effective, as I hardly see any snails anymore.

The increased cucumber harvest this year might well be thanks to that insecticide.
