Collapse of the Three Gorges Dam"--A Source of Terror for Residents of the River Basin

The Three Gorges Dam was constructed as a major national project aimed at flood control on the Yangtze River.
Although designed to serve five functions—power generation, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, waterborne transport, regional development, and flood control—the greatest expectation was for its role as a flood control system capable of handling the river's high-water seasons.

In recent years, however, severe flooding has occurred in both the upstream and downstream regions, even though the dam's water level is officially reported to be around 147 meters.
Wasn't the dam supposed to have the capacity to store an additional 30 meters' worth of water?

The area downstream of the Three Gorges Dam is the most densely populated and urbanized region in China.
Should the Three Gorges Dam ever fail, at least 400 million people would be affected, and approximately 3 billion cubic meters of sediment and debris would surge into the downstream areas.
It is said that the flooding would extend as far as Shanghai.

Massive power outages would occur, and restoration would be impossible in the short term.
Furthermore, the Yangtze River basin accounts for 40% of China's economic power.
In other words, the Chinese economy would be devastated, and agriculture would be ruined as well.
Recovery would likely take years.

 電話番号や固有のデバイスID(端末識別番号やMACアドレス、広告IDなど)といった基本的なユーザー情報、位置情報など。

A study published by computer scientists from multiple universities found that all Chinese smartphone manufacturers, including Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme, were collecting large amounts of sensitive user data through their operating systems and pre-installed apps.

The personal information collected included some that required strict handling.
Basic user information such as phone number, unique device ID (device identification number, MAC address, advertising ID, etc.), location information, etc.
This also included personal contact information, phone numbers, and metadata about calls and messages.
Once you have this data, you can easily see who is using what device, what they are doing on it, and what kind of people they are interacting with.

BYD entered the Japanese automotive market a few years ago and launched a new compact EV (kei-EV) at the end of last month.
It has generated a fair amount of buzz and seems to be selling reasonably well—perhaps because it is marketed as offering excellent features and performance relative to its price.

However, I do not believe it is a vehicle worth buying if it means effectively acting as a guinea pig.
Its performance, features, and price are nothing extraordinary; they are merely average.

It does not seem to hold a significant advantage even when compared to the Honda N-BOX, the top-selling domestic model.
Above all, it fails to overcome the inherent EV drawbacks of short driving range and long charging times.
While YouTube is full of flashy coverage, there has been no realistic assessment of its driving range when the air conditioner is used during extreme heat or cold.
The heating system, in particular, relies on an inefficient, outdated method, so the driving range will likely drop drastically in cold weather.
Furthermore, it has become clear that for users unable to charge at home who rely on rapid chargers, running costs could be nearly three times higher than those of a gasoline vehicle.

On top of that, there is no doubt that all personal data is being transmitted from the vehicle's computer to China.
I simply cannot understand why Japanese people would buy a vehicle manufactured in China.

It is pointed out that connected cars—due to their ability to collect and transmit vast amounts of data, such as location and personal information, and their capability for remote operation—pose risks of information gathering, cyberattacks, and the destruction of critical infrastructure by hostile foreign entities.
