何時もそうなのですが、自宅近辺のお友だちに向けて、故郷産のお土産を買って帰ります。
通常はお菓子を買って帰る事が多いのですが、今回は緑茶も買いました。
実は我が故郷は、九州の中では緑茶の生産が盛んな土地なのです。
I returned to my hometown this past June to attend to some personal business.
As is my custom, I bought souvenirs from my hometown to bring back for friends in my neighborhood.
I usually buy sweets, but this time I also purchased some green tea.
In fact, my hometown is a region in Kyushu where green tea production thrives.
子供の頃の私は、普通に美味しい緑茶を常に飲んでいたのですね。
関東に住む私は、近年は「Amazon 」で「そのぎ茶」と言うワードで検索して買うのですが、前回買った緑茶の味は、あまり美味しくなかったのが正直な所でした。
I grew up in an environment where drinking delicious green tea was the norm.
After moving to Tochigi Prefecture, I started searching for and buying "Sonogi-cha" on Amazon, but to be honest, the last batch I bought wasn't very good.
今回は自宅用に買うのですから、それほど高級でも無くて良いと考え、比較的お安い価格の「茎茶」を買うことにしました。
実家付近では、「白折れ」と呼ばれている製品です。
実はこの手の商品は、一般的にお安いのに苦みが少なくて甘みが強いのです。
ちょっと味が薄く感じる人もいると思いますが、お茶葉の量を少し多めにすれば、とても美味しく飲むことができるのです。
カフェインも少ないので、体にも優しい。
近年は外国人に「緑茶」が人気だそうで、価格も上昇してきているのですが、自宅用で飲む無用とで考えると、個人的にお勧めしたい「緑茶」です。
Since I was buying this for home consumption, I decided not to go for anything too high-end and instead chose a relatively inexpensive "kukicha" (stem tea).
Back where my parents live, this type of tea is known as "shiraore."
In fact, this kind of tea is generally affordable yet has little bitterness and a strong sweetness.
Some people might find the flavor a bit light, but if you use a slightly larger amount of tea leaves, it tastes delicious.
It is also low in caffeine, making it gentle on the body.
Green tea has become popular among foreigners in recent years, and prices have been rising; however, if you are looking for something to enjoy at home, this is a green tea I would personally recommend.
