This is the second follow-up regarding the "ORION SCR-B9" that arrived the other day.
Today, I tried out the CD player.
I tested it by playing a CD containing an insert song from an anime, as well as some music tracks I had saved on a USB flash drive.
"Follow Me," a song by Kimiko Itoh that serves as the theme for director Mamoru Oshii's film *Innocence*
As expected, the sound quality from a CD is superior to that of Bluetooth.
Fine details come through clearly, and the sound remains pleasant even at higher volumes.
However, even at the maximum volume setting (displayed as "32"), the 10W+10W output feels a bit lacking when filling a large room.
That said, for a device of this type—essentially a portable stereo—the sound has a much more tangible, realistic presence than older models.
I was home alone today, which allowed me to play it at such a high volume, but since I normally listen at less than half that level, it’s not an issue at all.
I also tested playback via USB, and the sound quality seemed on par with that of a CD.
While it is possible to navigate between folders on a USB drive, the device does not appear to support a nested (hierarchical) folder structure.
It seems you might need to store all your music tracks within a single folder.
*Note: I have not yet fully verified this.
