SUZUKI自動車の「e - SKY」は日本で売れる?/Will Suzuki’s “e-SKY” sell well in Japan?

  https://www.suzuki.co.jp/car/

As expected of Suzuki—the price is low, even for a brand-new model.
The battery capacity is reportedly on par with that of the Nissan Sakura or the Honda N-ONE, and rumor has it that it is manufactured by BYD (though this remains unconfirmed).
After accounting for government subsidies, the price comes to 1,822,000 yen—a very accessible price point for an EV.

When compared to the S grade of the Nissan Sakura—which also lacks sliding doors and comes without a navigation system—the price, after applying government subsidies, comes to 1,868,600 yen.
While the Sakura is affordable for an EV, used models—which are essentially as good as new—can be found on the market for around 1.3 million yen; this makes buying a brand-new one seem unnecessary.

In my view, if you’re considering the "e-SKY"—a vehicle that isn’t particularly cheaper than the Nissan Sakura and doesn’t really feel like a typical Suzuki product—you’d be better off buying a used Nissan Sakura instead.
Consequently, I don’t believe this model will sell in significant numbers, even with the Suzuki badge.
That said, it is likely a more affordable option than Honda’s "N-ONE e," which comes equipped with the "Honda SENSING" suite.
The used Sakura mentioned above has only been driven 2,000 km, so battery degradation should be minimal. Since an EV of this type is really only practical as a second car, buying one used makes perfect sense.
I think it’s a great choice for those living in rural areas, especially if they happen to be a long way from the nearest gas station.

I recently had the opportunity to borrow an "N-ONE e" for about a week.
It was quite user-friendly, and in terms of driving performance and noise levels, it was on par with gasoline-powered vehicles in the same category.

I used this EV for three trips to a nearby supermarket (about 5 km away) and one trip to a roadside station a bit further off (just over 20 km away). I noticed that using the air conditioning caused the battery level to drop more than expected.
Although the total distance driven was likely less than 80 km, the gauge dropped to nearly half, suggesting that the actual range in the summer would fall short of 200 km.
Since I don’t have a 200V charging setup at home, I have to rely on a 100V outlet—which means it would take over 30 hours to reach a full charge.
According to the manual, it takes 16 hours to fully charge using a 200V power source.

For comparison, our Honda Fit (e-HEV) has a range of over 900 km, even in the summer—meaning it can travel 4.5 times further than this type of EV.
Given this, I believe that anyone considering purchasing an EV of this kind should definitely borrow one for about a week to test it out—including the charging process—before making a final decision.

SCR-B9/CD Stereo Radio Cassette Player SCR-B9

A few years ago, wanting to listen to FM radio, I set out to find a compact radio with a built-in speaker and an output of around 2–3 watts.
I searched on Amazon and purchased an affordable, handheld FM radio.
It ran on three D-cell batteries (DC 4.5V), and while I had hoped for decent performance, the sound quality was exactly what you’d expect from a cheap radio—it completely lacked any sense of "depth."

when I was in high school—around the age of 18 to 20—I used a Sony "Sky Sensor 5500."
This model featured one IC and 11 transistors—nine in the receiver circuit, one in the AUX circuit, and one FET, or field-effect transistor.)

It was a radio with excellent sensitivity and a rich, deep sound.
I was very fond of it and would often listen to late-night broadcasts after getting into bed.
Later, after I had purchased a dedicated high-fidelity audio tuner, my younger sister visited my apartment and ended up taking the "Sky Sensor 5500" home with her.
For a while after that, I listened to FM radio through my audio system using that dedicated tuner.

Recently, I’ve found myself strongly desiring a high-quality FM radio once again.
Although I occasionally come across used "Sky Sensor 5500" units on Amazon, they are so old that components like capacitors have almost certainly degraded, so I don’t feel inclined to buy one.
Lately, I’ve been wondering if there might be a high-quality FM radio built using discrete components—or perhaps a kit that would allow me to assemble such a radio myself.

Lately, I’ve been eyeing the "CD Stereo Radio Cassette SCR-B9" from ORION.
Believe it or not, it was actually created through a crowdfunding campaign.

As for the product itself, the nostalgic design immediately caught my eye.
It offers a solid 10W + 10W output, and the CD player is equipped with a memory buffer for better usability.
Inside the chassis, the enclosure is divided into left and right sections, featuring a 2-way speaker system with a "damped bass-reflex" design.
Personally, I don’t have much use for the cassette deck, but the inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity is a big plus.
It would allow me to connect my existing SD card player wirelessly, which would significantly improve ease of use.
Oh, I really want one...

Reading *The Nihon Keizai Shimbun* regularly only makes you even more of an "idiot."

Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama completely demolishes a Nikkei reporter in just 83 seconds!
The full story behind the moment the reporter fell silent after being pressed to provide the basis for their false report.

********************************** My Opinion *****************************************

It seems that the *Nihon Keizai Shimbun* (Nikkei) has reached a point where it is almost entirely devoid of competent journalists.
Those who read this newspaper typically do so with a serious stake in the matter.
Often risking their livelihoods or their assets—yet I hear that it has become a common occurrence for the paper to rely on vague, unverified sources without performing any due diligence.
In this recent instance, they chose to blindly trust information provided by a Chinese bank.
Instead of cross-referencing multiple sources to ensure the accuracy of the claims, they bypassed that essential step and went straight to publication.
They have forgotten the most fundamental requirement of a journalist.
They fail to consider the harm that can be inflicted upon others through the dissemination of false information—forgetting that "the pen is mightier than the sword."
How far the *Nihon Keizai Shimbun* has fallen.
Who would even want a newspaper that is nothing more than a collection of errors and attempts to manipulate public perception?

中野信子(脳科学者)、TV生放送で高市首相を「性接待」呼ばわり/Neuroscientist Nobuko Nakano refers to Prime Minister Takaichi as a provider of "sexual favors" during a live TV broadcast.

********************************* My Opinion *********************************

Regardless of the intent, it is completely unacceptable to characterize a female head of government—a prime minister, no less—in terms of "sexual favors."
What is truly surprising is that Japan’s "old media" (mainstream media) has not reported on this at all.
Yet, if such a remark had come from the government side, they would have hounded them relentlessly.
This just goes to show how heavily the Japanese media leans to the left.

By the way, this "Nobuko Nakano"—who seems to pride herself on her good looks—has been making increasingly radical statements on YouTube.
She is over 50, yet with that seductive appearance and those sexually charged remarks, I find her—as a man—positively chilling; she’s like a *hebi-onna* (snake-woman).

The Lies About "Global Warming" (Canon Institute for Global Studies)

****************************************************************************************

The crisis of global warming is frequently highlighted, with media in Japan attributing phenomena such as typhoons, sudden torrential downpours, and extreme heatwaves to its adverse effects.
The cause is identified as carbon dioxide (CO2) and other emissions resulting from the use of fossil fuels like coal and oil.
Consequently, nations around the world have entered into the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, setting a goal to achieve net-zero emissions of greenhouse gases—including CO2—by the latter half of the 21st century.
The Japanese government has also pledged to the international community to reach net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050, a goal now being pursued collectively by local governments, corporations, and educational institutions across the country.

* Is "net-zero CO2" truly a global trend?
Countries in Eastern Europe, for instance, show no interest whatsoever in decarbonization.
For nations striving for economic development, the push for "net-zero CO2" is a significant burden; an examination of their actual energy plans reveals that they have no intention of pursuing such a goal.

* China stands to profit, while the Japanese economy faces ruin.
China currently dominates the industries for solar power, wind power, and electric vehicles.
If Japan and Western nations invest heavily in achieving "net-zero CO2," they will inevitably end up importing the necessary technology and infrastructure from China—a massive boon for the Chinese economy.
While the national strength of Japan and Western nations would be weakened by the pursuit of "net-zero CO2," China—which continues to emit large quantities of CO2—would see its own national power grow.

* Claims regarding the extinction of polar bears and the submerging of islands are false.
The dire predictions previously linked to the impacts of global warming have consistently failed to materialize.
For example, it was once widely claimed that polar bears would face extinction due to the loss of sea ice caused by global warming; in reality, their population has since increased.

To what extent should the laws that constrain the Self-Defense Forces be revised—even during peacetime?
Katsuki Takada, former Commander of the Ground Component Command, responds to questions from Taku Yamazoe by providing concrete examples.
In an exchange with Mizuho Fukushima regarding the evacuation of residents, he also addresses the difficulties involved in using escort ships for such operations.
The situation in Japan presents a stark reality: the necessity for operational preparedness on the ground is undermined by legal restrictions—constraints that could ultimately lead to the deaths of citizens.

************************************** My Opinion *********************************

The Japanese Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party appear to act with complete disregard for the reality surrounding the Self-Defense Forces and the "Three Non-Nuclear Principles."
What they seek to protect is merely their own ideology; they show no concern whatsoever for the Japanese people or the nation’s territory.
Furthermore, there are many Japanese citizens lulled into a naive, "peace-obsessed" stupor—who echo these sentiments.

Japan’s current security environment is among the worst in the world.
China’s military expansion and the growth of its nuclear arsenal have reached a critical, terminal stage.
Russia continues its prolonged invasion of Ukraine, resulting in a massive loss of life.
North Korea, too, has increased its nuclear warhead stockpile and has even constructed nuclear-powered submarines.

In such a climate, the Japanese Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party—by hampering the Self-Defense Forces and advocating for the expulsion of U.S. forces—are, in the truest sense, "traitors to the nation."
It is difficult to conclude anything other than that they aim to steer Japan toward communism or socialism—an agenda that has also been supported by the media.
As a result, the Japanese public has descended into an extreme state of naive, "peace-obsessed" complacency.
Moreover, the younger generation today lacks the capacity to even contemplate their own nation’s security.
It is high time for parents to reflect more deeply, so that their children might one day be capable of seriously considering the realities of national security.
